Spend a day learning the fundamentals of studio lighting and portrait photography. All instructions will be taught verbally in Chinese along with English written handouts for attendees.
The success of a portrait is equally dependent on lighting as well as poses of the subject. The manner that the subject is lighted sets the mood of a portrait. Best lighting simulate natural sunlight. We are accustomed to seeing faces illuminated from above and to one side, with shadows cast downward to one side or the other. Good portrait lighting best shows a subject’s facial features and expressions.
A typical studio portrait lighting usually consists of at least two lights. One is the main, or key light; the other is the fill light.
You will learn that portrait lighting is divided into various types such as broad, short, butterfly, Rembrandt, split, and rim (profile).
Learn to photograph male and female subjects.
What happens if the subject has long nose, small ears, thin nose, round face, large eyes, or double chin? Learn 30+ ways of corrective techniques in photographing and posing the subject to minimizing the showing of those defects.
In the afternoon, attendees will photograph something normally not offered to the public. We will have body painted models of the theme “Wild Kingdom” for you to photograph.
